The Penguin Ruler

What exactly was Snape's long-term plan?

Snape:Oh Lily, Voldemort might have killed your husband and child because I told him about the prophecy, but he spared your life because I asked him to do so and now we can be together! Never mind the fact that you severed ties with me six years ago! Or that I am now forever in Voldemort's debt and am still a Death Eater. Which is...the whole reason...you stopped being friends with me...because you were terrified that I was becoming one of them...and...you made it very clear that you had absolutely no romantic feelings for me...and boy is that whole "dead-husband-dead-child" thing a rainy cloud on our parade...but...we'll be together! After all this time! Always!
